Dinah Meyer

July 5th, 1929 - August 21st, 2020

July 5th, 1929 - August 21st, 2020

Dinah was born in Northumberland, England, to Benjamin and Sarah Mordue. She will be greatly missed by her daughters: Melissa Nagl (Phil), Maggie Green, Wendy Mitchell (Tom), Stephanie Hartsock (Robert) and Melanie Meyer. Her eldest daughter, Alexis McInroy, preceded her in death, as did her loving husband, Edward Meyer; and Alex McInroy, her first husband. Dinah is survived by many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dinah was a remarkable woman who excelled in all her ventures, from homesteading in the 1960s to Anchorage, Alaska, where she worked at Era Helicopters and Winship Air Service and others in aviation. Later, Dinah worked at the chamber of commerce's of Salinas, Calif., and Tacoma, Wash. Dinah was an excellent knitter, her afghans - such as the one pictured - winning blue ribbons, as well as the Grand Champion Ribbon at the Palmer Fair last year. Dinah passed away peacefully with her daughters and hospice at her side. We hope to have a memorial at the Anchorage Pioneer Home, where Dinah lived, as soon as the virus will allow. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Frontier Hospice or the Anchorage Pioneer Home. Please wear a mask, keep your distance, and stay safe and well. This too shall pass.
