Jason Claude Bradford
July 16th, 1970 - March 15th, 2016
July 16th, 1970 - March 15th, 2016
Jason Bradford, 45, recently of Big Lake, Alaska, passed away at Providence Hospital on March 15, 2016, due to complications following heart surgery. Born in Roseburg, Ore., on July 16, 1970, Jason moved to Sterling, Alaska, in 1972, with his family, where they made their home. Jason was preceded in death by his father, Claude Bradford; his mother, Sherian (Burgess) Cunningham; and his nephew, Jeremy Mysing. He is survived by his sons, Austin and Tristen Anderson; siblings, Margaret Girves, James Moore, Roland James, Lisa Root, Stacie Bradford and Oty Anderson; as well as the Cunningham and Bradford families; his brother in friendship, Wade Walker; and many more extended nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends that he held as family. Jason was a man full of heart, in spite of the literal failure of the organ by the same name. Austin and Tristen were Jason's pride and joy and family was paramount to him. The loss of his mother was a heavy cross to bear, as he personally cared for her until her death just months before his own. He often expressed grief and longing for his Mom and Dad. Jason graduated from Soldotna High School Class of 1988. He went on to study at Community College. Jason took many jobs over the years, including many years with NAPA Auto Parts, at various Anchorage locations and in Kenai, Alaska. Jason always maintained his passion for movies, reading, collecting comic books, sci-fi and gaming. His bright imagination and joy from those passions were at the core of who he was. With his crude sense of humor, a smile that could light up any room and an ornery way of picking on people, he made sure we all knew that we were loved. His heart of gold and compassion for others was evident. Jason will be forever missed, but remembered fondly by many close family and friends. "You're going to make a difference. A lot of times it won't be visible even, but it will matter just the same." - Commissioner James Gordon -
