Jeanette O'Brien

28 de abril de 1934 - 17 de julio de 2024

28 de abril de 1934 - 17 de julio de 2024

Jeanette O'Brien passed into the arms of our Lord, and joined her grandson, Jesse in Heaven, in Anchorage, Alaska, on July 17, 2024; she was 90 years old.

Jeanette was born in the village of Seldovia, Alaska, to Ernest and Eva Vinberg. She went to school in Seldovia until her early teens. Then went to Catholic boarding school for Native girls in Seattle, Wash. Jeanette was married to Fredrick Diamond from 1952 to 1995, and raised two sons, Ernest and Michael. Jeanette lived in Kodiak during the 1964 earthquake and tidal waves, and later moved to Anchorage. Jeanette married the love of her life, Kenneth O'Brien, in 2001. She adored and loved him; she had the happiest years of her life with him.

Jeanette will be remembered for her love and adoration for her sons, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, especially Sarah, Jesse, Emry and Kinsey. She taught us all how to play cribbage and always won while pretending she was just learning. She had a great sense of humor. We talked to her every day; she was our best friend, mother, grandmother and wife, fiercely loyal and protective.

Jeanette is survived by husband, Kenneth; sons, Ernest and Michael; granddaughter, Sarah; great-grandkids, Emry, Kinsey, Dallas, Jace and Neveah; and stepchildren, George, Collen, Dennis and their families. She is missed and loved.

Service will be held on Aug. 8, 2024, at 2 p.m., at Eagle River Presbyterian Church.
