Jeannie Kay Rosebrock

July 19th, 1947 - July 11th, 2024

July 19th, 1947 - July 11th, 2024

After a long struggle with cancer, Jeannie Kay (Hursh) Rosebrock passed away on July 11. She passed peacefully, in no pain. Jeannie often mentioned that she was born in the Ozarks by the light of a kerosene lamp. She graduated from Sparta High School, Sparta, Missouri, then served her country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam conflict. She served at Lackland Air Force Base, Barksdale Air Force Base, and finally at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Alaska. She was proud of achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant during her first term of enlistment, an unusual accomplishment both then and now. After leaving the Air Force, she remained an Alaskan for the rest of her life, and was joined there by many other family members over the years. She had a varied career, including several medical practices, the State of Alaska, and the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. She enjoyed many different kinds of crafting, cookouts, gaming, Harry Potter, and spending time with family. She was predeceased by her parents Lloyd (Dillard) Hursh, Mary (Lelah) Forgey Hursh, her sisters Janice Tannehill and Joyce Hursh, her niece-in-law Ellen Hursh, her nephew Tracy Hursh, her grand-niece Susan Hursh, and her great-grand-niece Judy Stockton. She is survived by her nieces and nephews Tony Hursh, Teresa Dunn, Toria Heard, and Tobias Tannehill, her grand-nieces and nephews Kayla Choquette, Brandy Anderson, Amber Tannehill, Tony Heard, Ashley Heard, Marshall Tannehill, Nicole Vanderplas, and April Choquette, and many great-grand nieces and nephews. Jeannie's wishes were to have no formal service, and that her remains be placed in the Linden Cemetery, Linden, Missouri, along with those of her sisters and mother. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society are suggested.
