Sharon Ailene Roberds

Sharon Ailene Roberds went to be with her Lord and Savior on August 6, 2022, surrounded by her family. Sharon was born August 16, 1944 to William and Ailene Mathis in Colville, Washington. She spent her early years living in a log cabin and attending a one room school house in Pleasant Valley, WA before her family homesteaded a farm near Ephrata, WA. Sharon graduated from Ephrata High School in 1962 and attended Wenatchee Valley College where she earned her AA degree in 1964. She continued her education at Central State College in Ellensburg, Washington. While in high school she met Airman John Roberds, the love of her life, and they were married January 9, 1965. The Air Force brought them to Anchorage, Alaska originally in 1972. Upon John’s military retirement they moved back to Anchorage in 1981. During their nearly 58 years of marriage, Sharon and John raised two daughters, Sherri Dee and Deborah Dee, who survive her. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and sister-in-law Barbara Marlow. A memorial service will be held at Trinity Presbyterian Church at 12310 Lorraine St., Anchorage, AK 99516 in Anchorage on Thursday, August 11 at 6:00 pm.
