11 de agosto de 1980 - 23 de diciembre de 2018

Christopher Alan Woosley born in Fresno, California on August 11, 1980 - Passed on December 23, 2018 in McGrath, Alaska. He graduated high school from the Takotna Charter School in May of 1998. He went on to complete his A&P License private pilot license. Chris was an accomplished heavy equipment mechanic and operator. He was an avid hunter and a fisherman. His love for the outdoors was only exceeded by his love for his family and Fianc, Richelle. His love of family was so evident in both his words and actions. A true "gentle giant". There was not an engine that Chris couldnt fix or rebuild, he loved to tinker with all engines. His favorite reading material was equipment manuals. One of his favorite things to do with friends was to have a beer and a bonfire at the "Big Bridge" He will be dearly missed by the residents of Takotna, Alaska where he made immeasurable contributions to the village infrastructure and the health and well-being of all. No matter who you were, Chris had always had a smile, a story, or a "tall-man "for you! He was proceeded in death by his grandparents, Jan Newton of Takotna, AK; Bob & Betty Pollreis of Largo, FL; George and Jewell Woosley of Fresno, CA; most recently his uncle, Walter Hogan and cousin, Tiffany Lagier both of Caruthers, CA. The love he had for his nieces, Gracie and Sophie; his nephews, Caleb and Colin; would make any room light up with love! He was the first one to teach them about the "tall man." He is survived by his fianc, Richelle Vanderpool of Takotna, AK; his parents, Jim and Carolyn (Spyder) Pollreis of Maple Valley, WA; his sisters, Stephanie Wilson and Kimberly Pollreis of Maple Valley, WA; his Grandpa, Dick Newton of Takotna, AK; Grandpa, Bob Ankrom of Maple Valley, WA. Also, nieces, Gracie Pollreis and Sophia Prets; nephews, Caleb and Colin Wilson all from Maple Valley WA. Brothers from another mother, Jesse Grady of Takotna, AK; Greg Newton of Eagle River, AK. and Adam Rodriguez of Auberry, CA. He last worked at ARCTEC Alaska as a Station Mechanic. At this time a celebration of life is being planned to be held in Takotna in August at the Takotna "big bridge". We will post details on Facebook.
