Larry Dean Pedersen

Larry Dean Pedersen, 73, passed away on February 10, 2017 at Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage. A memorial service will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 2:00pm at the Sunny Knik Chapel, Mile 14 Knik Road, Wasilla, AK 99654 with Pastor Duane Guisinger officiating. Larry was born June 30, 1943 in Iowa Falls, Iowa to Stanley and Violet (Oleson) Pedersen. He married his loving wife Sharon K. (Austin, "Crecalius") Pedersen in Iowa on February 29, 1964. They had their first child in December 1964. Larry, searching for adventure, moved his family to Anchorage in the winter of 1978. Larry worked as a CEO/Loan Officer at the National Bank of Alaska, Chief Loan Officer at Key Bank, Chief Operations Officer at Alaska Housing Finance Corporation, and as Owner/Operator at Commercial Financial Group, retiring in 2002. He was a member at Sunny Knik Chapel and through his music helped celebrate and honor his Lord. He volunteered playing piano/keyboard for area retirement homes like the Pioneer home and others. He really enjoyed spending time with others and never met a stranger he couldn't make smile. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and wife. He is survived by his three sons, Mark A. Pedersen (Dawn) and Michael T. Pedersen, both of Anchorage, and Todd A. Pedersen (Kimberlyn) of Eagle River; his daughter, Susan R. Nestell (Jeff) of Whitehall, Michigan; his nine grandchildren, Anthony, Michael, Joshua, Britne'Dawn, Sarah, Kenneth, Nathan, Mark, and Hannah; his 3 great grandchildren, Elizeo, Piper and Aubrey; and numerous friends and church members of Sunny Knik Chapel.
