David Earl Dunn

Loving husband, father and grandfather, David Earl Dunn passed away peacefully Nov 6, 2016. Born Oct 19, 1938 in The Dalles, Oregon, David grew up in Wasco, Oregon and later moved to San Francisco, CA. where he met and married his wife of 58 years. David worked in construction all his life running heavy equipment and started his own excavating company after moving to Redmond, Oregon in 1969. He brought his family to Alaska in 1981 where he continued his trade for 20 years working as a foreman on many highway and public works projects in Anchorage and surrounding areas. An avid outdoorsman, David was a competitive trap shooter in Oregon and loved hunting, fishing and camping. He was also a sports enthusiast, with football and golf among his favorite pastimes. David is survived by his wife Barbara Dunn, children Diana Dunn, Karen McLeod (Scott), Linda Heater (John), grandchildren Ben Heafer, Conner McLeod. Avalon McLeod, brother Col. James Douglas (Doug) Dunn USAF retired (Betty), and many nephews and nieces. He will be missed and his memory will live on forever in our hearts.
