Earnestine Meeks passed away on Saturday, December 13, 2025. She was born on April 28, 1962, in Pickens, Mississippi, the daughter of Sarah Meeks.

Earnestine was a bright and gentle presence in the lives of those who knew her. She had an easy, genuine smile that was often the first thing people noticed, and it rarely faded once a conversation began. She brought warmth into every space she entered and had a thoughtful, reflective nature, often finding meaning and comfort in her African proverbs book.

Adventurous and independent, Earnestine lived life on her own terms. She embraced new opportunities with courage, including taking a job in Alaska and choosing to make it her home. That decision reflected her willingness to step into the unknown and build a life rooted in curiosity, resilience, and self-trust. Wherever she went, she brought laughter, kindness, and connection.

Earnestine never married and had no children, but she created family through friendship. She will be remembered for the joy she brought into ordinary moments and the kindness she offered without asking anything in return.

A celebration of life will be held in April. Details will be shared at a later time.

Those who knew and loved Earnestine will carry her memory forward with gratitude, holding close her warmth, her smile, and the quiet strength she shared so freely throughout her life.
