Joan N Delaquito

Joan N. Delaquito of Eagle River, Alaska, passed away on Dec. 12, 2020, at the Chugiak Senior Center Assisted Living Facility. She was born on Oct. 25, 1930, in Philadelphia, Pa., to Edward and Agnus Nuneville. She attended and graduated from Sharon Hills High School in 1948. She married the love of her life in 1952, Jannar H. Delaquito, who was enlisted in the United States Air Force. In 1970, the Delaquito family arrived in Alaska, where they made Eagle River their home. Joan worked at the base commissary and finished up her working career working at FNBA for 14 years, retiring as operations supervisor of the Eagle River branch. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jannar "Harry"; her father; mother; and stepmom. She is survived by her son, John Delaquito of Lake Louise, Alaska; daughter-in-law, Yvette; grandchildren, Jonathon, Anthony and Keegan; son, James Delaquito of Eagle River; daughter-in-law, Chris; and grandchildren, Vince and James. She will be laid to rest at the Fort Richardson Cemetery next to her husband. A funeral service will be planned for a later date , hopefully this spring.
