Betty Anne Tuttle

We are saddened to announce the passing of Betty Anne Tuttle. Betty passed away on Nov. 19, 2022, from an aggressive form of dementia. She was surrounded by her children, grandchildren and loved ones. Born on April 13, 1954, in Seward, Alaska, she was a lifelong Alaskan and friend to all. She was an incredible storyteller as well as a skillful and imaginative craftswoman. Betty married her childhood friend Tom in 1972, the same year she graduated from West Anchorage High School. They were married for 35 years, raised their four children before his passing in 2007. She was incredibly proud of her children and her 12 grandchildren that she affectionately called her own "dirty dozen." Above all, she loved her family and her husband Tom. As incredibly sad as we are to announce this, we are comforted in knowing that she is now back with our dad. There wasn't a day that went by that she didn't miss him. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Joyce McDowell; brothers, Sean and Kevin McDowell; and, of course, her husband, Tom Tuttle. She is survived by her four children and 12 grandchildren, Toby Tuttle (Tommy, Tasia and Trey), Dione and husband Todd White (Quinn, Ava, Jake and Vance), Torey Tuttle (Trustin and Talin) and Lindsay and husband Justin Skrukrud (Jaylin, Jaxxon and Jayce); brothers, Dan and Aaron McDowell; many cousins; and several nieces and nephews. We would like to thank Maple Springs Senior living and her special cousin Cathy McCarty for being with us on this journey. Memorial will be held on Dec. 22, 2022, at 5:30 p.m., with visitation and refreshments, and service starting at 7 p.m., at Unite Church, 2626 Abbott Road in Anchorage, Alaska.
