Elzie Leonard Wilson

Elzie L. Wilson passed away peacefully at his home Saturday, December 28th, 2024 in Anchorage, Alaska. He was born on October 31st, 1937 to Jesse and Pauline Wilson in Lake Port, California. Elzie is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Elizabeth; 4 sons, David, Steven, Michael, and Richard; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 1 brother and 1 sister. He was pre deceased by 1 brother. He retired from Anchorage Parks and Recreation in 2004. 

Elzie was passionate about wood working. He made intricate scroll saw baskets, jewelry boxes, and wall plaques. He reconditioned bicycles, giving them a new life and home with the neighborhood kids in need. He could strike up a conversation with anyone he came across and often helped his neighbor's roto-till garden plots and clear snow. He always went the extra mile to spoil his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was a selfless man and loved his family well. 

Near the end of his time with us he expressed He had a beautiful life. He will be greatly missed!

As per Elzie's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
