Souvenirs

Dexter E. Williams reached the end of his colorful and adventurous trail on April 18, 2025 at the age of 71. He passed away from a rare form of lung cancer. He was born at Fort Gibbon in Tanana, Alaska on August 9, 1953 to Walter D. Williams and Margaret M. (Nollner) Jimmie. He was the 7th of 8 children. Dexter lived in Fairbanks, Tanana and Anchorage. Dexter was loyal to his family and friends and spent time with them. He was the go-to-fix-it man. He loved working with his hands. He loved playing the guitar, playing chess and taking his dogs for hikes. He was proud of his heritage. He was a traditional Athabascan man who provided for his family. Shared many a campfire while “moosing” with his cousins and bro Claude.  With his quick wit and humor, he could tell a story!  He will be extremely missed but always loved and remembered by his loved ones. Dexter worked as a Project Manager for all of the Alaska’s 7-11’s and Tesoro To Go franchise. He also worked in maintenance on the North Slope. He retired in 2017.

Dexter is survived by the love of his life, Kim of 38 years. His children Crystal Dorn and Walter Williams, Grandchildren Naomi, Madison, Jordan, Nathalia, Anuska and Remi.
