Evan Allan Winn

Evan has left us much too soon and we grieve for him. But our thoughts also turn to happier times and memories of Evan as a vibrant and spirited man. He was born in Chico, California and grew up in Sacramento where he participated in many sports. He was an excellent skier, a competitive swimmer and loved to play soccer. Evan moved to Alaska in 1985 with his mom, Pamela, and brother Ryan. He loved Alaska!! Evan was an avid fisherman and also loved snow machining. He shared so many of those adventures with his son Dillon and brother Ryan. Ryanrecently reminisced about how Evan found so much pleasure in providing otherswith a good time whether it was fishing the Kenai or out high-marking pristineslopes or just fooling around in Hatcher Pass. He loved the thrill of adventure and was even happier sharing those adventures with others.Evan is survived by his wife, Jannae Leonard, his son Dillon Winn, mother Pamela Winn, brother Ryan, sister-in-law Michelle, niece Rylee, his aunt Beth Lee, uncle Donnie Lee, and his in-laws Jay and Jean Leonard, with whom he was very close.Evan was preceded in death by his grandparents, George and Rosalie Sargent, and his father Evan David Winn.

Evan’s passing has left such a huge hole in our lives. We hold him in our hearts forever. Be at rest, our husband, father, brother and son, uncle and nephew. We wish you peace and a fast snow machine, racing along an unmarked winter slope,with azure winter skies and an icy wind blowing into your smiling face.
