Elaine Helen Bostwick

Anchorage resident, Elaine Helen Bostwick, 87 passed away December 15, 2025, at her residence.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held 2 pm December 27, 2025, at Sunny Knik Chapel, Wasilla with Pastor Stephen officiating.

 

Elaine was born May 17, 1938, in Cottage Grove, Minnesota.  She grew up in Minnesota. Elaine married James Bostwick, Sr on December 24, 1956, in Hastings, Minnesota.  She has made her home in Alaska since May,1975 residing in Wasilla, Bird Creek and Anchorage.  Elaine worked at the Sears Cafeteria from 1975 until 2000 and later worked at KFC from 1999 until retiring in 2017.

 

Elaine loved going on road trips, cruises with her best friends, Karen and Connie and never missed a chance at getting on that plane to see family in Minnesota, Texas, Wisconsin, Florida, South Dakota, and Hawaii.

 

She enjoyed crocheting, gardening and traveling.   She attended Sunny Knik Chapel.

 

Her family wrote: " When times were tough or we were in some kind of pain, she would tell us 'It only hurts for a little while'"

 

She is survived by her daughter, Georgette Weeg, Wasilla; two sons, James Bostwick, Jr and David Bostwick, Wasilla; and one sister, Judy Joyce, Spooner, WI. She is preceded in death by her husband, James and daughters, Brenda, Eva and Debbie.

 

Her cremated remains will be interred in Aurora Cemetery in Wasilla
