Evelyn Jensen

Wasilla resident, Ms. Evelyn Sophia Jensen, 62, passed away on March 22, 2013 at her home. Evelyn was born September 26, 1950 in Dillingham to Gus and Mary Jensen. Evelyn was a people person who loved getting out and interacting with others. Evelyn was cared for and loved by many. Mat-Su Services for Children and Adults assisted Evelyn's family the past 22 years with her care. Her family wrote: "We love you Ev, and we'll miss you very much; we know you're in a better place." The family wishes to express a sincere thank you to Noel Cotter for always being there and caring for Evelyn; as well as Joan and Diana, Evelyn's Care Coordinators at MSSCA; and the rest of the MSSCA team that helped make a positive impact on Evelyn's life over the years. Evelyn is survived by her mother, Mary, Anchorage; one brother Vern Jensen, Anchorage; six sisters Irene Fleury, Palmer; Janet Jensen, Anchorage; Lillian Jensen, Anchorage; Sarah Thiele, Big Lake; Martha Jensen, Wasilla and Grace Jensen, Anchorage; two uncles Davis Hobson, Anchorage and Walter Johnson, Homer; as well as many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father, Gus; and two siblings Douglas and Dianne Jensen. Evelyn will be laid to rest next to her father in Pedro Bay.
