Frank T. Pickett was born to Frank L. and Mamie E. Pickett on July 10, 1933 in Nome, Alaska. He has his first plane ride at 10 days old when he and his mother flew to White Mountain, Alaska to join his father. His parents were teachers at the boarding school in White Mountain. Except for several years in Olympia,Washington, he spent his entire life in Alaska. As a child he lived in Kodiak, McGrath, and Anchorage. He moved back to Anchorage in 1945 and lived there the rest of his life.
In Anchorage is where Frank met the love of his life, Nancy. On October 17, 1956, they married, now Nancy was unable to have children, so in January of 1961, they went to King County, Washington and adopted their son, Steven. They purchased homestead land from Frank's father on the South hillside of Anchorage. In the 60 years Frank resided in Anchorage where he built the home on his land and continued to do carpentry work for most of his life as a career. Frank enjoyed many adventures in his time, from fishing, hunting, to gold mining in many many places. Frank definitely lived a long fulfilling life with many stories. Frank touched lives and gave a helping hand whenever he could.
Frank's memory will carry on for many years, as the life he lived, was full and long lived.
