May 7th, 1986 - February 2nd, 2025
Justin Michael Heath, age 38, born May 7th, 1986, in Omaha, Nebraska, passed away all too soon on Sunday, February 2, 2025 in Fairbanks, Alaska.
A mechanic and welder by trade, Justin resided in Nebraska while pursuing employment as an auto mechanic, boilermaker, and a railroad carman for BNSF Railroad. His personal love for nature and adventure brought him most recently to Alaska where he was employed by the Alaska Railroad.
Justin had a love for life, family, friends, adventure, and was one with nature and the outdoors, a place which called to him as his true home. He lived for hunting, fishing, hiking, wildlife and was drawn to the mountains where he could embrace the fullness of his internal passions.
Justin is preceded in death by his grandparents, Duane and Beatrice Heath, and Daniel O. Wheeler.
Justin is survived by his parents, Mike and Kathy; brothers, Tyler (Dylan) and Vance; nieces Lexie, Braelynn, Sutton and Frankie. Partner Stacey Smith (daughter Ava).
If tears could build a stairway and memories a lane, we would walk hand in hand, right up to heaven and bring you home again. Forever loved, forever missed.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15 from 11-1 at Lauritzen Gardens 100 Bancroft St, Omaha, NE 68108.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made to the memorial fund. Contributions can be brought directly to the Celebration of Life. For those wishing to express their condolences with flowers, they may also be brought to the Celebration of Life. Your support and generosity during this time is greatly appreciated.

I had the pleasure of working with Justin in Seward, Whittier and Anchorage. He worked hard and always made sure to get the job done. I will cherish the memory of the time I asked him to re-secure a 2,000 lb bag of "jello" to a railcar. Because of him, there were a lot of laughs and it made it to where it was going.

I was truly hart broken when I heard of Justin's passing. Justin was one of kind. He was always asking what he could do to help and if I had any jobs, I needed his help on. A couple years ago I was working a remote job and we were struggling to get people to willing to help due to the location. When Justin heard where we would be and this place being a part of Alaska that he had never been to he jumped on the opportunity. Working with him in remote parts of Alaska for a couple weeks I really got to know him. Since that time, every time I needed something I would seek him out and he was always happy and willing to drop whatever he had going on to come make sure what I needed was a top priority. Justin was kind, honest, extremely hard working, and always willing to go the extra mile. He was a great man and I am honored to have called him my friend.

I only knew Justin for the short amount of time he worked in Fairbanks. It was an honor & a privilege to work with him, and a blessing to learn the knowledge he shared.
