Deborah Lea Reeder
July 11th, 1959 - October 18th, 2023
July 11th, 1959 - October 18th, 2023
Deborah Lea Reeder, 64, passed away unexpectedly on October 18, 2023, in Anchorage, Alaska.A Celebration of Life will be held in Anchorage, Alaska in the spring of 2024. Details will be shared when available. Per Deb’s wishes, her ashes will be scattered at her favorite beach on Maui at a later date.Deb was born on July 11, 1959, in Sandpoint, Idaho to Larry and Barbara Foote. The Foote family moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 1965 and found their lifelong home on Huffman Road. Deb attended Service High School and graduated in 1977. After graduation she moved to Louisiana with her first husband, and in 1981, daughter Jodi was born. They moved back to Alaska in 1989. Throughout her career in Anchorage, she worked at Pacific Fabrics, Fred Meyer, Wachovia Securities, and most-recently Morgan Stanley as a Financial Assistant. In 1995, Deb met and married her wonderful husband, Robert “Willy” Reeder. They enjoyed camping, tropical vacations, summer weekends spent working at rodeos throughout the state, and most of all – dancing the two-step together. Anyone who watched Deb and Willy dance could easily see the way they connected on the dancefloor, like she was made to fit perfectly in his arms. One of Jodi’s dearest memories will always be watching her parents dance, and learning what love and adoration look like.Deb enjoyed crafting, gardening, snuggling her pugs, and making memories whenever possible with her friends and family, including her two granddaughters who were so special to her. Deb was a woman of enormous talent, creativity, and vibrance, with an energy about her that could not be ignored. At a young age, she discovered her passion and talent in sewing, crafting, and fashion. She could make or fix anything with little more than an idea and a few basic materials to start with, although there was nothing basic about her! Her wardrobe, jewels, sense of humor, and personality were big, colorful, and fun.Deb had always been a beach, sun, and warm weather person and she vacationed on lots of beautiful beaches before falling in love with Maui, Hawaii. This was her happy place, and she spent several weeks each year enjoying her time there – sometimes with friends and family, and sometimes solo. Countless treasured memories were made there with her family, old friends, and new friends that she met along the way.Deb is survived by her husband, Robert “Willy” Reeder; daughter, Jodi (Matt) Holson; granddaughters Lydia and Madalyn Johnson; mother Barbara Foote; sisters Connie (Travis) Frisk and Laura Foote; niece Kamryn Frisk, nephews Karson Frisk, Brett Foreman, Denton Foreman, and Kevin Powell; and many special aunties, uncles, and countless friends whom she loved as family. She is preceded in death by her father, Larry Foote; grandparents Orville and Dorothy Cranor, and grandparents Frank and Elsie Moore. In lieu of flowers, an account has been set up with Nuvision Credit Union to assist with expenses under the account name: Robert Reeder Donation-Only Account. Donations can also be made to the American Cancer Society in her name, if preferred.Arrangements by the Cremation Society of Alaska.
