Johanna Basil Ament

It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Johanna Ament, age of forty-three, of Palmer, Alaska, on May 12, 2025.

Johanna was born at KI Sawyer AFB in Gwinn, Michigan to John and Vicki Ament. She was most recently the owner of Transcendence Custom Garage, specializing in custom painting and powder coating of motorcycles. Johanna attended the University of Alaska at Anchorage graduating in 2014 with her degree in Diesel Mechanics/Heavy Equipment. She spent many years working on the oil fields of Alaska on the North Slope. She also attended the Texas A&M University firefighting program and was a firefighter on the North Slope.

Her passion was Harley Davidson motorcycles. She loved riding, rebuilding and custom painting them. She always said that riding her motorcycle was when she loved life the most. She also loved everything outdoors; especially hunting, fishing, and spending time at the family cabin which she helped build.

She is survived by her parents, John and Vicki Ament of Palmer, Alaska and her sister Heather Ament of Eagle River, Alaska. She is also survived by her grandmother, Jane Lamer of Tomahawk, Wisconsin. She has many aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her unconditionally. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Jack and Darlene Ament, and her grandfather, Vern Lamer.
