Michelle Marie Brenton Clyde
June 22nd, 1968 - June 28th, 2025
June 22nd, 1968 - June 28th, 2025
Michelle Marie Brenton Clyde, 57, passed away peacefully on June 28,2025, at Mat-Su Regional Hospital in Wasilla, Alaska, after a long and courageous battle with breast cancer.
Born on June 22, 1968, at Lackland Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas, Michelle was the beloved daughter of Charles Brenton and Linda (née Effler, Brenton) Drummond. Her early years were filled with adventure and love as she lived in San Antonio, Texas; Anchorage, Alaska; Dayton, Ohio; Canton, Illinois; and finally settled in Eagle River, Alaska. During her childhood, Michelle was active in Camp Fire Girls, Girl Scouts, and 4-H—experiences that helped shape her compassionate and creative spirit.
Michelle graduated from Chugiak High School in 1986 and went on to work as an immigration technician and later as a school bus driver. When she became a mother, she dedicated herself fully to raising her children as a stay-at-home mom—a role she cherished above all.
A woman of many talents and deep faith, Michelle loved writing, painting, baking, and gathering family together for joyful celebrations. Her snickerdoodles were legendary among friends and family. She found deep joy in her family, especially in raising her children and spending precious moments with her grandson, Preston. Her life was also enriched by her pets and several memorable trips to Hawaii, where she created treasured family memories.
Michelle lived a life rooted in love, forgiveness, and unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She found particular inspiration in the Book of Revelation, which she saw as a source of both warning and hope.
Michelle is survived by her children Kristen Mikele Brenton, Sierra Clyde, and Dakota Clyde; her beloved grandson, Preston; her mother, Linda Drummond; her sisters and their families—Tammy, Charlene, Angela, Aimee, Autumn, and Kristen; her brother Michael and his family; her stepmother, Cindy Dodd; and many cherished aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Brenton; her infant brother, Paul; her maternal grandparents, Gene and Mim Effler; and her paternal grandparents, Cecil and Lenore Brenton.
A Celebration of Life will be held on July 4th at 6:22 p.m. at the family homestead in Homer, Alaska, where her ashes will be lovingly laid to rest.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Breast Cancer Prevention Partners, the American Cancer Society, or The Pink Fund, in Michelle’s memory.
Michelle will be dearly missed and forever remembered for her love, strength, creativity, and deep devotion to her family and faith.
