Timothy James Pivonka
August 30th, 1989 - September 12th, 2024
August 30th, 1989 - September 12th, 2024
Timothy James Parker Pivonka of Anchorage, Alaska passed away on September 12, 2024 at the age of 35. He was a great son, brother, cousin and friend, and was a shining light in the lives of so many.
Timothy was born in Carrollton, TX on August 30, 1989 to his adoring parents Kathleen Marie Booth Pivonka (Kathy) and Timmy Pivonka (Tim). He went by a few nicknames including Timmy, T-Bone, T-Bone Jr. and Bubba.
Besides his beloved sisters Rachel and Olivia, Timothy had a huge extended family and most of his vacations involved either visiting his Pivonka cousins in Ohio or traveling with his mom, uncle and grandparents to Austin to visit his Hackathorn cousins. His families always welcomed him with open arms and hated to see him leave. He also loved being a big brother and spoiled his sisters by taking them on fun adventures, buying them plenty of sweet treats and supporting them every chance that he had.
He was intelligent, kind and a star on the baseball field from a young age. He loved having his dad coach him in football and on the All Star baseball teams and his dad was his #1 fan. Timothy loved the Cleveland Browns and the Cleveland Guardians and discussing the games with his dad and his Uncle Jeff Booth was one of his favorite things to do.
Timothy attended Newman Smith High School in Carrollton and was a member of the varsity baseball team. After finishing high school, he focused his athletic abilities on playing golf, dodge-ball and Frisbee-golf. Timothy always had a love for playing video games like Call of Duty or Madden which is something that brings some laughs to his sisters. No matter where he was or what situation he was in, he always had a gaming console nearby whether it was a Nintendo Switch or a Play Station.
One thing that stayed constant in all stages of life was his love for his family and friends. He had a heart of gold and that was apparent to everyone around him. While he was from Carrollton, Texas, he found second homes in Austin, Texas and ultimately Seward, Alaska. Throughout his time in each place, he built long-lasting relationships and an extended family that was dear to him.
During his time in Seward, he found a new appreciation for fishing and for the beautiful scenery Alaska has to offer. We feel like he found a new sense of peace and belonging there.
Timothy was preceded in death by his mother Kathy and by his grandfathers James D. Pivonka and Francis Lamar Sachnik. He is survived by his father Tim, his stepmother Virginia and his sisters Rachel and Olivia. He is also survived by his grandmothers Catherine Pivonka and Alba Sachnik and by his grandparents Sue and Gene Cone and James and Rose Booth. Timothy is also survived by 30 aunts and uncles, 47 first cousins, 34 second cousins (children of his first cousins) and 6 little cousins who are the children of his cousins' children.
While we all will miss him terribly, we can find peace in knowing that
he is no longer in pain and is reunited with his mom in Heaven.
We, his family Tim, Virginia, Rachel and Olivia would like to thank everyone for your love of our son and brother. Special thanks and greatest appreciation go to Aan Ortiz, Simone Johnson, James Farner and Pete Kashman for helping us to settle Timothy's affairs in Anchorage, for helping to retrieve his belongings and for guiding us through the process. We appreciate Shawn Luxenberg, Richard Dayton, James Andrews, Dustin Leggett for treating Timothy like a little brother and Will Teipi for being like a little brother to Timothy. Thank you to the Seaview staff for working with him and helping him to find hope again and especially Samantha, Simone. Anna, Tonya, Nana, and others.
Special thanks to all of his Seward family, Pastor Porthen and the Seward Church of the Nazarene, Seaview Community Services, Alaska SeaLife Center and Woody's Restaurant.
We are indebted to the kind souls at the University of Alaska Anchorage, the Cremation Society of Alaska, the Anchorage Police Department and the Anchorage Medical Examiner's Office for their delicate and supportive help to us in this sad situation.
And last but certainly not least, we send our deepest gratitude to Timothy's lifelong best friend Katie McGrenaghan for her love, support and caring for him all of his adult life. She will always have a special Guardian Angel watching over her!
