Nicholas (Nick) Andrè Abrajano, 32 passed away June 8, 2025, at Providence Alaska Medical Center, Anchorage.

An informal celebration of life will be held with friends and family in Fairbanks at a time yet undetermined.  His cremated remains will be scattered in Alaska, the state where he loved.

Nick was born October 1, 1992,  in Corpus Christi, TX.  He grew up and attended school at Woodlawn Elementary, Haas Middle School and graduated from Richard King High School, Class of 2011, all in Corpus Christi.   Nick joined the U.S. Army in the summer of 2016, completed boot camp and subsequent construction engineering school at Fort Leonard Wood and honorably served active duty from June, 2016 to June, 2022.  During those six years, he was stationed at Fort Wainwright in Fairbanks, Alaska and Fort Hood in Killeen, Texas. He was a certified Horizonal Construction Engineer and was issued a honorable discharge at the rank of Specialist/E-4. During his service, He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Achievement Medals (2), the Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, and the Driver and Mechanic Badge with driver wheeled vehicle clasp.

Coming to Alaska with the military, Nick initially resided in North Pole from 2017-2019.   Nick married Katrina (Kit) Holsapple on March 31, 2018 in Fairbanks, Alaska. The couple has made their home in Fairbanks since 2024. Nick and Kit enjoyed traveling and exploring together and made their first trip through Canada and the western United States in 2019.  They did a lot of hiking and camping during their time in Texas. In the summer of 2022, they made a trip in their RV across the US, seeing the country and visiting family.

In addition to his military service, Nick worked at CC Motor Sports in Corpus Christi from 2022-2023 for the second time where he had also worked during high school and prior to leaving for boot camp.  He also worked at Politics Spirits and Games in Corpus Christi, Texas and recently has been employed with the Alaska Fun Center in Fairbanks since 2024.

He loved cooking for his family and friends, especially having a mean Texas-style BBQ. He also enjoyed skiing in Alaska, fishing everywhere, and riding his V-Max motorcycle. He was a skilled mechanic and could build anything.   He especially loved his spouse, his son, and his large family and friends. His favorite pastime was snuggling with Kit and his fur babies, exploring and RV’ing and was looking forward to a long lifetime of adventures.

His family wrote:” He ‘had a MAGNIFICENT beard and luxurious locks’, a beautiful singing voice, could be silly and crazy at the drop of a hat.  He could fix anything and was the family’s  ‘MacGuyer’. Everyone had a list of ‘to do’ for when he visited.  He restored his beloved ‘Clifford’, a 1978 Dodge W100 Power Wagon from the frame up and ‘Copper’, Kit’s 1978 Kawasaki KZ650. He loved big and with his whole heart. He will be missed by so many- leaving a hole in our hearts.”

Nick is survived by his wife, Kit Abrajano of Fairbanks; son, Dwight Abrajano of Corpus Christi, TX; his parents, Roger and Beverly (BJ) Abrajano of Corpus Christi, TX; sister, Angi Bellis of Sabetha, KS; sister, Aimee and her husband Louis Evon of Cary, NC; four nieces, Shelby Pease,  Samantha Gutknecht, and Sofia Gutknecht, all of Sabetha, KS and Phoenix Achilli of Cary, NC; three nephews, Steven Gutknecht and Solomon Gutknecht, both of Sabetha, KS and Victor Achilli of Cary, NC; and one grand-niece, Lakelyn Schroeder of Sabetha, KS.
