Sharie Van Ness

Sharie Van Ness passed away December 4, 2022, in Anchorage, Alaska after battling cancer.Sharie was born November 24, 1952, in Niles, Michigan and moved to Anchorage as a teenager. She graduated from East Anchorage High School in 1970.Sharie and Lee Van Ness were married in 1973, and together they have five sons, Randy (Stephanie) and son Logan, Gary, Andrew (Katie) and their children Maren, Bailey, Jack, and Sophia, Matthew (Kat) and their children Allison and Connor, and Steven and his son, Finnley.The Van Ness family was very involved in hockey. Lee coached, Sharie managed hockey teams, and all five boys played. It was a wonderful way to raise a family.Sharie is survived by her siblings, Gail Cottrell, Ron and Sherry Eagley, Dennis and Diane Figg, and Jeff and Laura Figg. She is also survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Suzy Van Ness.Sharie’s mom, Janice Childers, preceded her in death.Lee and the boys are going to have a private goodbye.
