Rick Jerald Van Tassel, 42, died on June 16, 2023, unexpectedly in Anchorage, AK. Rick was born on May 6, 1981, in Eureka, CA to Robin Peterson and Ricky J. Van Tassel. A private viewing was held for the immediate family on June 20, 2023, at the Cremation Society of Alaska.Rick married LauraAnn Van Tassel (née Higgins) on November 29, 2008. They had three children, Rick, Erick and LillyAnn. Rick and his family lived in Anchorage, AK. He worked as a heavy equipment operator and foreman for the last 20 years at BTH construction and Hultquist Homes.Rick enjoyed camping, fishing, snow machining, four-wheeling, and spending time with his family. Sometimes you could even catch him in a game of Magic with his kids or watching the latest Marvel movie.Rick is proceeded in death by his father, Ricky Van Tassel. He is survived by his wife, LauraAnn; his children: Rick, Erick and LillyAnn; mom, Robin Peterson, and her husband Ken; sister, Sybil Otis, and fiancé Matthew Curry.A celebration of life will be held at Kinkaid Chalet on June 29, 2023, at 5:00 pm.
