Sorry to say . . .Rosalie, 76 years old, our very dear friend, passed away in her sleep at the Anchorage Pioneer Home.As the white raven was in the sky, there was an opening in the clouds, and the gates were open forRose to be with God up in heaven. She is now free from pain that was with her for most of thesummer. We will miss her dearly, as she left us with a lot of love. Her Alaskan family of friends were very dearfor her, and the rest was the Oregon family that was close to her heart, for she loved us all. She was asweet heart, and will be with us forever in life, as the tears roll down the sides of my cheeks, for welove her. Also, she will be in heaven with her furry dogs that were close to her for many years of her life. Good“old” Brewer, Denali. Blackie, and Honey Bear. For Rose will have her favorite treats at hand, as shetakes her friends on a walking trail into the stars of heaven. She always enjoyed being in her flower beds or working the soil in her garden, or planting her favoritetree. For everyone to enjoy, that was Rose for sure. She had a lot of good times at her “Bear Den” a cabin she helped build in the Talkeetna Mountains. Orswimming in the beaver ponds with her grandsons or with good friends. Truly, she enjoyed being nearthe ocean or digging her toes in the sand. Or riding the ATV along the beaches between Anchor Pointand Homer with the eagles high in the sky. Or being with her family in Oregon camping on the oceansand dunes. And Hawaii was always a favorite, any time of year.Rose came to love Alaska in her 40s. While she worked in Denali National Park, in the railway gift shop, she met the love of her life, John Craig. They married after 20 years together. It can’t get any betterthan that. They shared their life on Jade Street for many years, and spent a lot of time with our friendsin the woods at their cabin.Fish on, that was Rose, give her a fishing pole, and she seemed to be the luckiest person ever.In her free time she always enjoyed a good cup of coffee, going to watch an afternoon movie at themovie theater. Rose always enjoyed the drive going down to Beluga Point. Also reading her favoritebook, and loved macaroni and cheese, that was always her favorite food. Or get crazy, playing Yahtzeewith her friends, and hanging out with her husband John and friends at the local brewery, or taking thedog for a walk. That was Rose for sure, enjoying the good times (things) of life. Our family, would like to express special thanks to our friends that helped us out in her final days onMother Earth. We love you.
Christine Mason, an angel from heaven who was Rose’s best friend ever. Also, the wonderful staff atAnchorage Pioneer Home were outstanding. And all our friends, and the people from Hospice.
